Robert Fripp (n. 16 de mayo de 1946), guitarrista que se hizo famoso por su trabajo con el grupo King Crimson. Nació en Wimborne Minster, un pueblo del condado de Dorset, al sur de Inglaterra. Aprendió a tocar la guitarra a los 11 años de edad. Luego de participar en varias bandas desde los 14 años, se convierte a fines de la década de los años 1960 en uno de los fundadores del movimiento progresivo junto a King Crimson, También famoso por su singular técnica conocida como frippertronics.
Actualmente es considerado uno de los guitarristas más influyentes del rock de vanguardia, desarrollando un virtuosismo propio, técnico, superior e innovador que es notable respecto a sus contemporáneos colegas guitarristas de cualquier otra banda.
Fripp está casado desde 1986 con Toyah Willcox, cantante punk y actriz.
